Letter tracing worksheets, A to Z
Print the whole alphabet, or just this week’s letter. Capitals, lowercase, or both side by side, each with a solid example to look at first.
Pick one letter for a focused sheet, or A to Z for the whole alphabet.
Print at 100% scale (“Actual size”) so the lines match.
How the sheets work
Every row starts with one solid letter to look at, followed by dotted copies to trace. The green dot shows where the pencil goes down first, and the strokes follow the order children are taught. An empty writing row under each letter gives space to try it without help.
Teach letters in groups
Letters made from the same strokes are easier to learn together:
- Straight lines: L, F, E, H, T, I
- Curves: C, O, Q, G, S
- Slants: V, W, X, Y, Z, A, K, M, N
- Lowercase circles: c, a, d, g, o, q
Once the letters in a child’s name feel familiar, make them a personal sheet on the name tracing generator.
Questions people ask
Can I print just one letter?
Yes. Set both Letters boxes to the same letter, for example B to B, and you get a sheet for that letter only.
How many pages is the whole alphabet?
With large letters and a writing row under each letter, A to Z comes to about nine pages. Turn off the writing rows or choose a smaller size for fewer pages.
Which letters should a child learn first?
Many teachers start with the letters in the child's own name, then group letters that share strokes, like the straight-line capitals L, F, E, H, T and I.
Are these free for classroom use?
Yes. Print as many as you need for home or classroom use.
