What this site does
You type a name, and TracingNames draws it on handwriting lines as dotted, dashed or solid gray letters, ready to print. There are also letter tracing sheets for the whole alphabet and class sets with a page for every student.
How the letters are made
Instead of using a font, every letter is drawn as a set of pen strokes in the order children learn them. That is what lets each stroke start with a green dot, and it keeps the letter shapes close to the simple print taught in US preschool and kindergarten classrooms.
Your privacy
Worksheets are made entirely in your browser. Names are not uploaded or stored. Read the privacy policy for details about ads and analytics.
